Wow! I can't believe I haven't posted anything for November! It's been a pretty busy month for us, especially getting ready for our big trip with the kids.
This year for Thanksgiving, we decided to head to New York to visit my side of the family, which we haven't seen since our wedding (over 4 years ago).
Since airline tickets were insanely expensive, we thought driving (26+hours) would be better. Yep, we're crazy. I would like to personally thank the man/woman who thought that putting a DVD player in a car was a brilliant idea...because it was. Without it, I think the drive would have been a lot worse.
Jacob was a fantastic passenger. He had zero potty accidents, and complained very little. Ella on the other hand...well...let's just say it was an adventure with her. But for the most part, she did pretty well too.
Now onto pictures...
All bundled up...
And exhausted from the drive...
On the subway heading out for "date" night (HUGE thanks to my dad and grandparents for watching the kids!)...A pic of the Empire State Building on our way to Madison Square Garden...My first time ever at MSG...Going to see the Rangers play...
Here we go...Daniel was thirsty...Foam finger!
What a fun night (Rangers won 7-4)...Abuelo (my dad) trying to show Jacob how to walk like a New Yorker...
Waiting for the subway to head to the city with the kids...
Here we go...Walking in the city with Ella...
"Hi"...
Jacob wants to walk by himself...
And so he does...
On the steps at the Museum of Natural History...
Jacob and his first New York hotdog, before the museum...
Ella wasn't hungry...
In case you can't tell, there's a giant elephant behind us...The dinosaur exhibit...
The kids admiring the museum and all it has to offer (ok so they were really just playing)...
The giant humpback whale...
This tree was cut down in California. It was huge and very old (should have written the facts down)...
The giant squid...Of course, Jacob's favorite "attraction" from the entire trip...
Toys R Us in Times Square...
There was an entourage of police officers standing around outside of the Hilton while we were walking in Times Square. Found out later that they were waiting for Adam Lambert from American Idol...
Jacob walking "alone" in Times Square...
It's tradition for the boys to go out for breakfast the morning of Thanksgiving...Turkey Day...
My beautiful cousin Alyssa...
My aunt Cecelia and my Abuelito (grandpa)...
My Abuelita...
My cousin Demi in the middle...
All of us eating...
Of course, Jacob can't eat with his clothes on (he loves being naked)...
These two are trouble...Mmm...FOOD!
Ella playing the piano with her cousins...My uncle Matt celebrated his 50th on Thanksgiving Day (Happy Birthday!!)...
Since this is a holiday for giving thanks, I want to say a HUGE thank you to my aunt Ana and my uncle Matt for letting us crash your house! We had such a great time and we can't thank you enough for letting us stay with you (hope the kids didn't drive you too crazy). Also, another HUGE thank you to my Abuelita. Thank you for cooking us dinner every night, and I'm so sorry Jacob messed up your sheets. Thank you Alyssa and Michael for keeping the kids entertained. They had such a blast with you guys! We miss you all and we love you very much! Hope we can come again soon!
