Well, it was bound to happen. Jacob was running in the kitchen and slipped on a small water puddle that our dog, Pearl, graciously left on the floor, which of course resulted in his chin splitting wide open. So, at around 8:15 last night, we were off to the ER. Again. That's twice this year? Anyway, our wait was a little longer than an hour (about two and a half hours to be exact), since we had to wait for the numbing gel to kick in. And there were more people in the ER than our previous visits. But the ER doctor was amazing and Jacob was so brave! He didn't cry at all, and he sat perfectly still when the doctor was patching him up! He did so well! Daniel and I, on the other hand, had a hard time watching. Daniel actually got a little queasy and had to step out of the room for a moment. I just wanted to hold my baby boy's hand, so besides the quick potty break for Ella, I stayed with him the entire time, with Ella attached to my hip.
*Warning*: Gonna post some of the "gore", so beware if you have a light stomach.

And here's the nice hole that was on his chin. Yes, a HOLE! And very deep I might add.
If you click on this picture, you can kind of see the fat from his chin sticking out (it's all the puffy stuff that's around the hole). The doc did have a little trouble patching him up, since it wasn't a "clean" split, and because he couldn't get the fat to go back in (gross, I know!). It was more of a gash and quite messy, but otherwise I think the doctor did a great job fixing my baby.
See. All better!
Now, let's pray that we don't have another ER visit for a while. I'm going to pray extra hard!
